Brief presentation of the institution: 
The Department of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Systems (GESAAF) has been established in January 2013. The Department has been organized in 4 divisions: - Agricultural and Forestry Valuation and Economics - Agricultural, Forestry and Biosystems Engineering - Forests, Environment, Wood and Landscape - Food and Microbiological Sciences and Technologies. The research unit in "Wood science and forest operations" is involved in the COST FP1407 activityes.

Main FP1407 related research topics:
Wood heat treatment kinetiks in different treatment media, LCA of forest operations, development of new wood derivates with limited environmental impact.

Brief information on available facilities:
Equipment available: 
Three large climatic chambers, ovens, wood anatomy laboratory, mechanichal testing machines for small samples up to beams, autoclave.
